Judy Beck – Long time friend and early supporter of FDG

We are sad to note the passing of long-time Park Board Commissioner and environmental advocate Judy Beck. 

 

Judy was a member of a group of concerned citizens who saved The Grove as a historic site. Judy also served on the Village of Glenview’s Natural Resource Commission, the Comprehensive Plan Committee, and the Environmental Review Committee. The Park District recognized Judy’s extraordinary commitment to public service by naming a park in her honor in 2011.  

 

Judy was an early and active supporter of Friends of Downtown Glenview, including collaborating on FDG’s proposal for a river trail connecting Downtown with Judy Beck Park at 735 Carriage Hill Drive.

 

Judy will remain an inspiration for our FDG civic mission.
